Description

(Reference number: 61866) Lisheen House is a large modern spacious house covering three levels that can cater for large crowds comfortably. The kitchen dining and sunken living room is all one area and covers over half of the ground floor area. Also on the ground floor there are two spacious bedrooms with queen beds. One has a full ensuite and the other has a small washroom with sink and toilet. The next level which is again built on concrete floors for safety and noise reduction boasts an extra spacious living room with cut stone fireplace and a very large panoramic window with views of the Burren hills. Sun light is a large feature in this room and is a great place to relax with a glass of wine and browse through some of the many books that are provided. Both living rooms have 32' flat screen tv's with separate satellite controls. The main bathroom and two more bedrooms are also on this level. One is twin and the other has a queen bed with its own ensuite. The upper level has another twin and double bedroom and a wash room with toilet and sink. The house is centrally heated throughout and during the colder times, we provide wood for the open fires in both living areas. All our fixtures and fittings are to a very high standard and we continually strive to maintain a high quality in the house. The house is located midway between the beautiful coastal villages of Ballyvaughan in Co. Clare and Kinvarra in Co. Galway with an approximate distance of six miles to each village. Both villages offer a good choice of shops, restaurants ,pubs and craft fair and a farmers market is held one day a week in each village. However we are very lucky at Lisheen House to have a highly rated pub and restaurant that specialises in sea food only a few hundred yards from our door. The local fisherman's wife Martina , runs a small fish shop on the pier behind the pub offering a selection of fresh shell fish every day and at weekends she has a selection of other fish such as seabass ,salmon ,plaice etc. A short distance from the pub is an art gallery and pottery shop where the pottery is made. One of the owners had her origins in Italy and offers for sale a choice of organic wines and food imported from Italy and mostly produced by her own family. Within a half mile from the house is an area called 'The Flaggy Shore'. Here you have a small sandy beach, ideal for swimming and the start of a fabulous walking route along The Flaggy Shore where you can do a three mile loop taking the scenery of Galway Bay and passing by Lough Murree, a small fresh water lake, home to swans, ducks and other bird life and yet is only separated from the sea by not much more than 100 feet of land. The house is ideally located for taking in all the scenery and attractions Clare and the surrounding counties have to offer. Galway, the City of the Tribes and the market town of Ennis are less than a forty minute drive while Shannon International Airport and Bunratty Medieval Castle and Folk Park are just an hour away.
