Description(Reference number: 79589)
Once the haunt of London’s artists and writers, Hampstead now combines its literary leanings with an air of establishment, this is where the city’s success stories come to put down their roots. Bookshops, boutiques, winding alleyways and, of course, the wonderful expanses of the heath call out to those whose affluent present has not entirely eclipsed a more eccentric past.
And so it is with Lancaster Grove. Original features mix with the contemporary. From the cornicing to the grand windows, the jaw-dropping bespoke dining table to the architect-designed glass floor, Lancaster Grove is destined to linger in your memories for years to come.Magic Circle
Your host is a businessman with a special passion for theatre, while your hostess manages a portfolio of s, including work as a psychotherapist, artist, and in conflict resolution. Not that there’ll be any conflicts to resolve at Lancaster Grove, except, perhaps, who gets to nab the master suite...
There’s an atmosphere of pure wonder about Lancaster Grove. Perhaps it’s the glitter that rains softly from the chandeliers, the way the light gleams from the polished chrome, or maybe it’s the colour palette, with its hues of gentle twilight; we know you’ll feel it too.
Downstairs, the exceptionally large open plan living space features a winding metal dining table, seating a comfortable twelve, and a glossy blue Aga. Art and sculptures sit all around, while, next door, the TV room, with its cosy sofas and garden views, is invitingly intimate. With its writing desk and extensive library, the study is more traditional in tone, and outside, the clever garden seems to have been designed with parties very much in mind.
Up on the first floor, the elegant drawing room stretches the length of the house; here you’ll delight in the designer furniture, original fireplace and some funky antiques. Next door, the master suite features a king sized bed and a restful en suite, with antique furniture and a decadent roll top bath. Up again and you’ll find four further bedrooms, three doubles, one with an en suite, and a single, alongside a comfortable family bathroom.Intellectual endeavours
Whether you’re hobnobbing with your neighbours, spotting blue plaques or browsing the bookshops, Hampstead has plenty to keep your mind occupied. And if you need to drop into town, hop onto the tube at nearby Belsize Park. You can be at Leicester Square in under twenty minutes.
