Lakeshore Lodge certainly lives up to its name as it is located on the very edge of Lough Mask, on the peninsula known as Burkes Island, 6 miles from Ballinrobe, County Mayo. Being all on the ground floor, this cottage has two single bedrooms and two doubles (one of which has an ensuite shower room and patio doors) making it available for 6 people. The rest of the cottage is made up of a family bathroom, a small kitchen, a large dining area with glorious views and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. To the exterior of the cottage are a small lawn and a patio overlooking the lough with outside furniture and off road parking for four cars whilst boat hire can be arranged through the cottage owner at an additional cost. Lakeshore Lodge is in a stunning location and can be used as a base for exploring the County Mayo region or just for messing about in boats.
Ballinrobe is a market town on the River Robe in County Mayo, close to Lough Mask and Lough Corrib. The town bristles with a diverse range of shops, pubs and restaurants; a testament to the vibrant culture and atmosphere of the town. It is ideally located as a touring base for those wishing to explore County Galway and County Mayo where the nearby lakes have fantastic fishing and there are a number of fine golf courses in the area. For day trips the stunning Mayo and Galway coastlines can be easily reached in a couple of hours as can the world famous Connemara National Park with its breathtaking walks and amazing scenery. The perfect location for those wishing to experience all that this region has to offer.
