This cosy converted barn is situated in the pretty little village of Fanlac, 10 minutes west of the beautiful riverside town of Montignac, in the heart of the Perigord Noir. This is a perfect retreat for a couple wishing to explore the many châteaux, historical sites and culinary delights the Dordogne region has to offer. Converted to a good standard with many original features remaining and exposed stone walls, this cottage is situated within the private courtyard of the owner’s second home that has been in the family for generations. The large open-plan living space still has the original bread oven, and has a corner kitchen and stairs leading to the bedroom, en-suite and separate toilet in the eves. Fanlac is a quaint village with a 12th-century, fortified church, and is known locally as the place where Jacquou le Croquant grew up. A short, picturesque car ride away is the swimming lake at Tamniès. Chateaux de Losse, 7km, and the troglodyte city of La Roque Saint Christophe, 12km, are both not to be missed.
