Step back in history while staying at the maternal home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who visited during his lifetime and wrote some of his early work while visiting with his family here.

Jacobean-style architecture dates from the period of King James I and James VI, at the beginning of the 17th century. Although Inigo Jones introduced Palladian Classicism during the period, Jacobean architecture combined French, Italian, and Flemish elements.

The ground floor has a large entrance hall, dining room, living room and bathroom. To the back is the well-equipped gourmet kitchen and with a massive open fire, large kitchen table, a utility room with a US washer and dryer.

There are two tower rooms, one devoted to Dining Room service and the other a Children’s gaming room stocked with an extensive selection of games and movies. The Living room has a large screen Smart TV with Sky Movies and WIFI.

If there is a necessity to work, there is a private office with PC and printer.

Upstairs there are six large bedrooms - four bedrooms and four bathrooms on the second floor and two further bedrooms on the third floor with shared bathroom facilities. The bathrooms all have modern fixtures and plumbing.

You and your party will have exclusive use of the property during your stay.
