Local Facilities and Amenities Glenbeigh is situated by the Atlantic Ocean on the Ring of Kerry and is a small village with great pubs and restaurants. Rossbeigh Beach is only 2km from the village. This stretch of golden sand covers 6 miles in total and is perfect for swimming and water-sports and has a new childrens playground. The beach is also great for horse riding with treks are available at the nearby stables for beginners and advanced riders. On leaving Seefin Grove, the Glenbeigh Hotel on your left hand side is a two minute walk and is one of the oldest hotels in Ireland. The public bar serves food from 12.30pm until 9.00pm with a menu to suit all, from traditional dishes such as Irish stew and bacon & cabbage, to freshly caught seafood and the chef's famous sirloin steaks. Walking is very popular in Glenbeigh and the surrounding area, the mountain scenery is magnificant and the circuit of hill from Seefin to Drung Hill is called the Glenbeigh Horseshoe. Trout fishing in Coomasaharn Lake is very popular. Dooks Golf Course is one of the best links courses in Kerry and only 4km from Glenbeigh Village. This 18 hole Championship Course is set out on one of the three stretches of sand dunes at the head of Dingle Bay. Other places to visit are Dingle and Blasket Island.
