There are a number of good pubs and restaurants in which to dine and Meliden has its own attraction in the form of Gop Hill; a Neolithic burial mound that provides evidence of man's existence in the area since the Stone Age. Nearby, Rhuddlan boasts its own majestic castle and there are a variety of National Trust properties to explore. Prestatyn, another nearby town, has achieved the coveted Blue Flag status for its beach and now plays host to holidaymakers looking to relax on the golden sands or indulge in the many water sports on offer. The historic city of Chester is also within easy reach, offering Roman ruins, designer shopping and evenings out.
