Ideal Touring Base
Bridge Burn Apartment is also centrally located in north Donegal making it an ideal base to explore this beautiful part of Ireland. The popular seaside resorts of Dunfanaghy, Downings, Portsalon and Rathmullan are all within a half hours drive. A number of great day trips can also be enjoyed from the apartment including the historic Walled City of Derry, the Slieve League Cliffs and the Inishowen Peninsula.
A Modern Apartment
The apartment itself has 4 spacious bedrooms to sleep up to 9 people comfortably. 2 of the bedrooms are ensuite. There is a bright and spacious living room with comfortable sofa and armchair furniture. The apartment has a well equipped modern kitchen with an adjacent dining room. The apartment has access to large landscaped grounds featuring a furnished patio area and a children's swing.
Trentagh is a small rural community with a popular local pub- Harleys. The quaint village of Churchill is just 5km away and there and weekly Irish music sessions in Wilkins pub there. The historic village of Kilmacrennan (6km) has a number of pubs and shops and nearby Termon has a bicycle hire centre.
Ideal Walking Terrain
The quiet country roads and lanes around the apartment are ideal for walking and cycling. There are a number of signed walks at nearby Gartan including the Gartan Estate Walk and the Quarter Walk. In Glenveagh National Park there is a wide choice of walks and some cycling routes. The wonderful Ards Forest Park (22km) has a diverse range of woodland and shore walks.
Letterkenny, Donegals main town, is just 8km from the apartment. Letterkenny is a modern vibrant town with a full range of tourist amenities including 2 town parks, An Grianan Theatre, the Regional Cultural Centre, Donegal County Museum, a mini Zoo, a modern leisure centre, indoor activity centres, a cinema complex. On the outskirts of Letterkenny is the historic Newmills Corn and Flax Mill complex. Letterkenny is also well served with shops, cafes, restaurants, craft outlets and pubs
Golf ,Fishing and Horse Riding
For the keen golfer there is a good choice of top-class golf courses within easy driving distance of the apartment. These include the 18 hole parkland course at Letterkenny (18km), and the superb 18 hole links courses at Rosapenna (25km), Dunfanaghy (26km) and Portsalon (30km)
Fishing is available locally on the River Lennon, Lough Veagh in Glenveagh and on Lough Fern – permits are required.
There are equestrian centres in Cranford, Carrigart and Dunfanaghy
The Wild Atlantic Way
Bridge Burn Apartment is also an ideal base to tour the Wild Atlantic Way in North and North West Donegal. All along the coastline from the Fanad Peninsula to the ruggedly beautiful Gweedore coastline, there are numerous headlands, rocky outcrops, sandy coves, offshore islands, small harbours and some of the finest beaches in Ireland. At Magheroarty pier there are ferry services to both Tory and Inishbofin Islands. The iconic Fanad Head Lighthouse is a Signature Point on the Wild Atlantic Way and is now open to the public.
