Nestled only one mile from the picturesque village of Gortahork on the Wild Atlantic Way in North West Donegal, Dunleavy's Cottage offers its guests stunning views of rolling hills and beautiful scenery, an old cottage with a very modern feel providing all the comforts of home and a warm welcome on arrival. Gortahork is a quiet village in the heart of the Irish speaking Gaeltacht area and is ideally placed for touring the very scenic surrounding countryside on the Wild Atlantic Way. There is something for everyone here, whether its mountain climbing on nearby Errigal or Muckish or relaxing on one of the many fabulous beaches located nearby, river, lake or sea fishing, there is so much to see and do, you may need to plan a further trip to fit it all in. The village boasts a large hotel, coffee shop, church, shops and traditional pubs which often have traditional music sessions. Local attractions include: *Glenveagh National Park with its castle and stunningly beautiful grounds (www.glenveaghnationalpark.ie). *Nearby beaches include Magheroarty, Falcarragh, Dunfanaghy and Gweedore. *Boat trips to the islands off the Donegal coast within easy access of Gortahork (Tory, Inishbofin, Gola and Arranmore Island). *Golf courses in nearby Falcarragh, Gweedore and Dunfanaghy. *The Dunlewey Lakeside Centre where you can avail of boat trips, horse riding facilities, adventure play area, feed some farm animals, eat in the restaurant or visit the Craft Shop (www.dunleweycentre.com) *Horse riding in Dunlewey and Dunfanaghy *Ards Forest Park (www.coillteoutdoors.ie) *Gartan Outdoor Centre for canoeing, kayaking, rockclimbing, windsurfing etc. (www.gartan.com) *Angling (http://www.nrfb.ie/fishing/salmon/index.htm or http://www.muckishsalmon.com for more information) ACCOMMODATION: The cottage comprises two double bedrooms, both ensuite and both with walk-in wardrobes, one with a double bed and the other with a double and bunk beds. There is a kitchen/diner with table and chairs. The water and radiators can be heated by the solid fuel stove in the kitchen or by oil fired central heating. There is a downstairs bathroom (with bath) and large living room which has a TV, dvd player and cd player. A travel cot and highchair are available on request (please ask at time of booking). Wifi is provided. There is an enclosed walled garden at the front of the cottage and a patio area to the back with a seating area. Linen and towels are provided. A welcome basket will be provided which includes essentials including milk, tea and bread and a non-essential but welcome surprise or two! WEEKLY RATES: July and August : €500 per week (Saturday to Saturday weekly only rental) Easter and Christmas : €500 per week Rest of Year: €400 per week Weekends (2 nights): €170 Bank Holiday w/ends (3 nights): €200 A non-refundable deposit of €100 secures the booking. Remainder payable prior to arrival by Revolut, Paypal or bank transfer. It can also be paid on arrival by cash only at a pre arranged time prior to receiving keys. Saturday to Saturday Weekly Rentals (weekly only rental for July and August). Check in 4.30pm - Check out 11.00am except by special arrangement.
