Description

(Reference number: 78752) Known for excellent hiking trails, local farm-to-table restaurants and gorgeous leafy scenery, the Hudson Valley is an escape from city life. It's the ideal place to switch off and get in touch with nature, and this home on the outskirts of Hudson is perfect for doing just that. Only a ten-minute drive into the city centre, you'll never be far from excellent eateries, lively bars and independent boutiques, yet you'll have calm, peaceful surroundings awaiting you back at home. Kayakers and paddleboarders can launch straight into Stockport Creek from the backyard (so remember to bring your own paddleboards and kayaks with you) while the more laidback guests can unwind with a beer or mug of hot chocolate around the outdoor fire pit, keeping an eye out for bald eagles flying overhead. After a long day exploring the great outdoors, head inside and play a game of chess in the cosy sitting room or rustle up a home-cooked meal in the sleek kitchen – it has all the cookware you need for family feasts. Better yet, hire a private chef to do all the cooking for you. Your hosts can also help arrange private yoga classes, wine tastings and at-home massages – as well as guided kayak tours of the Stockport Creek or Hudson River – so you'll truly be able to customise your getaway. Home truths: *One dog is welcome with advance notice – there's a $50 non-refundable fee, and if you plan on leaving them home alone, they must be in a crate *The master bedroom is in a lofted space that's not enclosed *There's on-site parking available, but electric car charging isn't allowed *The hosts ask that you do not play loud music after 9pm *The creek out back is great for kayaking and paddleboarding, but is not suitable for swimming – there are many great swimming holes in the Hudson Valley if you're in the mood for a dip *This is in a rural, countryside location so please keep a lookout for ticks and other wildlife *Please note that his home is off a fairly busy road, so there'll be some slight traffic noise during the day
