• Located in Derryduff More approximately 17Km north east of Glengarriff and 18Km north of Bantry, Co. Cork.
• The power house is of masonry construction with a natural stone finish and a slate roof
• Pelton type water turbine coupled to an induction generator. It is a single jet Pelton turbine with an output of 768 kw
• The electrical transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers and associated electrical equipment for interconnection to the national grid, are also housed within the building. The transformer feeds into the grid at 10 Kv and a three phase 38 Kv line brings the power output directly to a 38 Kv sub-station near Bantry.
• The start-up, operation and shutdown of the plant are electronically controlled. It is designed and programmed to operate remotely. The discharge through the turbine is taken via a concrete culvert to an outlet channel and the water is returned to the Derryduff stream.
