Directions
Edenderry is the principle town in east County Offaly and has witnessed a population increase of 33% between 2002 and 2006 (Census 2006). This is due in part to the town’s proximity to the larger towns of Tullamore and Portlaoise and the improved road infrastructural network to Dublin city, which is 63 km to the east. The town is situated 16 km south of the M4 Dublin/Galway motorway and 37 km from Tullamore, 16 km from Enfield and 25 km from Portlaoise. Over the last 10 years the town has expanded both from a residential and commercial perspective with large-scale residential and commercial development. Commercial occupiers located within the town include Dunnes Stores, Tesco, Aldi and Lidl along with Bank of Ireland and Allied Irish Banks alongside a number of local occupiers. Despite the large number of commercial and residential developments constructed, many have remained vacant since their construction almost a decade ago. The subject property is situated on JKL Street which forms the main thoroughfare within the town and comprises a number of commercial and residential concerns, including small and medium-sized retail outlets, offices and residential properties. The immediate area around the subject property is both residential and commercial in character with similar buildings adjoining it.
