Millstream is nestled in the picturesque undulating Westhmeath countryside, which is often overlooked but offers fabulous scenery with rolling hills and vast lakes. The property is 5.6 km from Castlepollard, which is a busy town with an extensive triangular green surrounded by 19th century buildings at its centre. The town is east of Lough Derravaragh and a good angling center for the Westmeath lake lands. Tullynally Castle, the residence of Lord Longford, within two miles and the famous gardens are open to the public during the summer.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Westmeath is famous for some of the most beautiful lakes in Ireland and Mullingar is known as “The Capital of the Lakelands”. Lake Derraravagh is just outside Castlepollard, while Lough Ennell, Owel and Lough Sheelin are also in the vicinity. The golf enthusiast is well catered for with 5 quality golf course within half an hours drive including Glassan Golf and Country Club, two championship courses at Headford Golf Club, Kells and the Mullingar and Delvin Golf Clubs. There is racing at the Kilbeggan Race Courses and the newly laid Derravarragh gallops are approximately 10 miles away. There is a choice of hunting packs to the keen horseman including the Westmeath’s, Ballymacads, the Meaths, The Tara Harries, which are all within boxing distance.

There are a number of primary schools and play schools in the locality, with secondary education available in Mullingar & Castlepollard. Wilson Hospital Private School is in Multyfarnham, 7 miles away and Headford Prep School is approximately 30 minutes away.

Directions From Dublin, take the M4 to Mullingar, at Mullingar, take the 3rd exit sign posted for Castlepollard. Continue 20 km and on reach Castlepollard take left turn onto the green and first left turn sign posted Coole/Granard. Dive for 2.3 miles and at Y in road, take right hand turn signed L5754. Continue 1.2 miles and at T-junction take right hand turn, Millstream is on the right of road.
