Description

This is a very unique property located at Derrymoyle just off the Glann Road and next to Lough Corrib Irelands premier fresh water angling lake. The house on a fine private site of 2.07 acres enjoys excellent privacy and has its own mooring. The house constructed in the 1970's as an executives holiday home is an amazing structure and so different to the norm of traditional cottages and dormer bungalows that are found in the locality. The house is constructed in the fashion of a high rise building of concrete columns with all the main accommodation on the first floor and just the entrance hall and a utility room on the ground floor. The whole of first floor is enclosed by glass in wooden frames with sliding doors off each room that lead on to the full walk around balcony. The house very modernistic for its time is heated by electric powered under floor heating and has many nice features to include high ceilings, spacious bedrooms and a quality Connemara open fireplace in the living room. The most special feature of the property is its 32' x 16' outdoor swimming pool in the rear garden where there are paved patios. The lower level of the house with the same footprint as upstairs would subject to the necessary planning consents be ideal for further accommodation. At present the lower level acts as open storage area with one section converted into a storage shed. In need of upgrading the property in a wonderful location with its own mooring on Lough Corrib has so much potential to be transformed in to a superb family home or a unique holiday property with the convenience of Oughterard village within five minutes drive and Galway city within a thirty minute drive.
