Directions

From Cahir take the Ballylooby road (first left after the castle) and travel out past the golf club. After 2km and at the first crossroads, take the signed road straight ahead for Tubrid. Continue for 4km and cross a small bridge. Take the right fork signed Castlegrace and Duhill Church. Continue for less than 1 minute and the cottage is the second property on the LHS.

Tubrid has easy access to the towns of Clonmel 13 miles (25 minutes) and Cashel 16 miles (25 minutes). The cities of Cork, Kilkenny, Limerick and Waterford are all equidistant from Tubrid (approx. 55 miles) and are accessible in around 75 minutes. Dublin can be reached in 2 ½ hours by motorway, although cheap public transport to the capital is also available from Cahir and Clonmel

The Location
Tubrid - a small townland meaning "The Well" - is a friendly neighbourhood lying in gently rolling countryside with superb views of two mountain ranges. Tubrid's beautiful ruined church is the burial place of one of Ireland's greatest poets (Geoffrey Keating) and is also the annual nesting place of peregrine falcons. Peaceful and perfect for walkers and nature-lovers, Tubrid is just 4.5 miles (10 minutes' drive) from the town of Cahir which has a fine castle, gorgeous river walks and prime fishing. Tubrid is also only 8 miles (15 minutes) from The Vee - (in the Knockmealdown Mountains) - which offers mountain walks and stunning panoramic views of Co. Tipperary. The Waterford Coast with its long sandy beaches and secluded coves can be reached in an hour.
