CLONE HOUSE
Clone House dates back to the 1650's and has a charming history. Originally built by the O'Byrne family it was the Manor House on a large estate stretching across Moneyteigue, Clone and Coolahullen. Unfortunatly the house was burnt down in the 1798 Rebellion but was beautifully restored around 1805 and later became a popular guesthouse for the area. Overall the accommodation at Clone House presents a
comfortable family home with fine reception rooms for entertaining, yet is extremely manageable. Retaining many of its original features the house has great character and has been beautifully and patiently restored.

Proceed along the M11/N11 to the Rathnew exit, from Rathnew village proceed to Rathdrum and follow the Avoca Rd (R752) proceed beyond Rathdrum towards Avoca for 1.2 miles, forking right for Ballinaclash (signposted Aughrim 11k) Continue from Ballinaclash to Aughrim. In Aughrim cross the bridge & turn right onto the Tinahely/Carnew Rd., signed Clone House. After a 0.25 mile turn left, again signed Close House & continue straight through a crossroads & take the next left, again signed Clone House. The house is on the right after c. 0.5 mile, marked by a green board with nameplate.
