When viewing a property there are some basic questions you should ask.
- How much is the rent/deposit?
- How often is the rent due?
- How long is the lease?
- Do you understand all the terms and conditions of the lease agreement?
- What happens if you terminate the lease early?
- Are you allowed to sublet?
- Are pets allowed?
- Can you paint the walls or make other decorating changes?
- Who is responsible for the maintenance of the property?
- What are the neighbours like?
- Is the property safe and secure?
- Is the property furnished?
- Is there a desk in my room?
- Does the property have central heating?
- Is there parking available?
- Is there a garden?
- Is there cable TV?
- Is there a phone line?
- Is there broadband access?
- Does the property include all kitchen appliances?
- Is there adequate storage space?
- Is the property close to public transport routes?
- How far is the property from college campus?
- What is the noise level like in the area?
- Is the area safe?
