Numerous cork trees scatter the horizon, they provide food for the black pig, "porco preto", this is a must to be sampled, there are various methods of cooking this and, all I have tasted were delicious. Alentejo means large open space, there is much wildlife like Storks, little Owls wild Boars etc. During the summer swallows love to visit the villa and dip in the pool, partridges visit the grounds early mornings and bee eaters late afternoon. Soon a golf course will be available in nearby Aljustral. This location is ideal for walkers, and those who like to explore the quiet and tranquil contryside.
