About Sherry FitzGerald McDermott Tullow
Sherry FitzGerald McDermott was established by Charles McDermott as McDermott Auctioneers in October 1992 at 36 Dublin Street, Carlow, employing only 2 people. Five years later the business moved to a larger premises on Barrack Street. The company went through a period of rapid expansion and opened branches in Athy, Co Kildare in 1998, in Tullow, Co Carlow in November 2000, in Kildare Town, Co Kildare in 2004 and Bagenalstown, Co Carlow in 2006.
In 2000 McDermott Auctioneers began trading as Sherry FitzGerald McDermott under franchise from Sherry FitzGerald countrywide. It is a family run business with Charlie, his brother James and 8 other people working in the company. The firm has IPAV (Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers) status. It has also opened up it’s own Mortgage Company known as ‘Mortgage Plaza’.
