About Fingleton & Co

The Company, established by Jim Fingleton in 1982, is a leading and one of the longest established company in Athy offering a professional estate agency service. Jim qualified as a member of The Irish Auctioneers & Valuers Institute in 1980 and worked with two leading Dublin Agencies before setting up his practice in Athy.



The practise has grown and now offers advice in the sale or acquisition of residential homes, residential development land, farms and commercial premises. Jim takes a long term view to real estate agency, offering realistic advice as the property market evolves.



NEW HOMES New Home Sales have progressed in Athy from 20 houses in 1982 to approximately 200 in 2007. Fingleton & Co has been very much involved in the growth of New Home Sales and has without doubt, sold the most units to date. We are currently marketing estates in Athy, Ballylynan and Monasterevin and will have other Estates in 2008-2009.
SECOND HAND HOMES. We offer a personalised service and are available
seven days a week to those considering purchasing or selling. We have also invested in a high profile office, with easy parking, which has been decorated to a high standard to showcase our properties.
AGRICULTURAL LAND. Coming from a farming background and having studied in Agricultural College prior to Auctioneering, Jim uses this in depth knowledge, in the sales of agricultural land. Rezoned land sales have had a profound impact on the price of agricultural land but it is expected that land values will continue to appreciate because of global factors. It seems that there will be very interesting times ahead, in this sector!
ZONED LAND. Zoned land sales have been active in the past few years with Fingleton & Co being involved in a high percentage of sales in the area. Land values peaked at € 500,000/acre and it is expected that this sector will see a significant slow down in the foreseeable future.



With the continuing upgrading of the transport network and proposed commercial and retail developments, the quality of life is sure to improve for those that have chosen to live in Athy.
