As one of two detached properties on the Ilen estuary, Up River House has been decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout. The accommodation includes four bedrooms, a lovely sun room with dining table, and a spacious living area with open fire. Guests are welcome to hire a boat directly from the property owner and explore the nearby islands.

Skibbereen is a thriving and bustling market town where you are guaranteed a warm welcome by the town's inhabitants. Colourful, eclectic shops, superb restaurants and pubs, the enthralling West Cork Arts Centre and Skibbereen Heritage Centre are all to be found here. Skibbereen’s exceptional local produce is the town’s pride and joy, including local seafood, meat and bread from its own bakery, and weekly country and farmer markets that showcase the best that the area has to offer. Located at the heart of some of Ireland's most breathtaking scenery, Skibbereen offers sandy beaches, sheltered coves, fast rivers, hills, forests and lakes, and all can be easily reached from the town by walkers, cyclists and drivers. There is an excellent 18-hole golf course and an indoor sports centre offering tennis, badminton and a gymnasium. The villages of Leap and Rosscarbery on the rugged West Cork coastline; Ballydehob; Schull; Bantry, and the market town of Kinsale - the "gourmet capital of Ireland" – are all close by.
