Portobello Area Guide

Portobello is in south Dublin city near the South Circular Road and Clanbrassil Street. The area is known by many locals as Little Jerusalem it was the heart of the Jewish community in Ireland at the start of the twentieth century. There is a private 3rd level college in Portobello with many students living in nearby areas such as Rathmines. Local amenities include the Portobello Bar and the famous Barge pub. Nearby areas include Dublin city centre, Rathmines and Rathgar.
