North City Centre Area Guide
The North City extends north of the river Liffey to the M50 motorway, encompassing Fairview, Marino, Glasnevin, Raheny, Castleknock, Clontarf, IFSC, Docklands Phibsboro and many more areas. Focal points of north inner Dublin include O'Connell Street, Henry Street, Jervis Street, the Irish Financial Services Centre (IFSC), the Docklands, Parnell Street, the Customs House and the north city quays.
All areas within north Dublin city have good bus links serviced by Dublin Bus and the Dart which runs through Howth Junction & Donaghmede, Kilbarrack, Raheny, Harmonstown, Killester, Clontarf Road, Connolly Howth, Sutton, Bayside Malahide and Portmarnock making these popular residential areas for Dublin commuters. Connelly station, Ireland’s main Bus station is located in north Dublin city centre where you will be able to get a train to Belfast, Sligo, Wexford and Maynooth.
There are 2 main hospitals in the north namely Beaumount and The Matter. There is also a selection of educational institutions including DIT, National College of Ireland IFSC, DCU and Clonliffe College.
