Cabra Area Guide

Cabra is in Dublin north approximately 5 km from the city centre near Phibsborough, Drumcondra, Ashtown, Glasnevin and Clonliffe Road. Cabra is served by Dublin Bus routes 37, 38, 39, 70. Cabra was mostly developed in the 1940’s by Dublin Corporation to house inner city dwellers from tenement buildings where before that is a rural area beside the city was. Well known people who were reared in Cabra include world champion boxer Steve Collins and singer Dickie Rock. While predominantly a residential area it is also home to many factories which are based along Bannow Road.
